Canadian multimedia artist, Katie Owen, has been honing her love of experimentation and creation in a variety of different methods in the Brantford, Burford and Guelph, Ontario areas.
While painting murals and exploring the Canadian identity, Owen found a deep passion for community and observation. This watchful eye lead her into a three-year contract drawing comics about small-town living which was published in the Burford Advance.
Owen graduated from the University of Guelph, obtaining her degree in Studio Art and Art History. She still resides and exhibits in Guelph part time, where she makes sculptures, drawings, prints and paintings from her studio.
Owen is a keen observer of the current condition, and the work she makes is an expression of these conditions and how they shape community.
